What We Heard and What We Are Doing - Report

Indigenous Engagement in the High Frequency Rail RFP

As part of its commitment to meaningful consultation and collaboration, Canada provided a Summary of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the High Frequency Rail project to Indigenous communities and organizations engaged in the project. The government shared this document to inform Indigenous communities and organizations of the approach planned for the Requests for Proposal and to seek insights and guidance regarding their inclusion in the RFP process.

This What We Heard & What We Are Doing Report is a summary of the feedback from Indigenous communities and organizations in response to the RFP Summary. Perspectives and insights provided were carefully considered and used by the Government of Canada to shape the final RFP, which has been released to the three bidding teams.

Indigenous communities and organization had the opportunity to meet all three of the bidding teams, to share their insights and recommendations for their participation in the Project. More than 90% of potentially impacted Indigenous communities were represented in those meetings.
