Public Consultation

The public consultation period on the corridor under study has now concluded

The public consultation period on the corridor under study as part of the Québec–Toronto high‑speed rail project concluded on April 24, 2026.

Many of you took part in consultation activities held in several municipalities between Québec City and Toronto, as well as online. These activities gave rise to rich and constructive exchanges, allowing the public to better understand the project and to engage directly with Alto’s teams.

The feedback received represents an essential contribution to informing the technical, environmental and socio‑economic analyses currently underway and to guiding the next phases of the project. A public consultation report will be published by summer 2026.

Additional consultation activities are planned in the coming months as the project progresses. We invite you to monitor our announcements to learn more about next steps and upcoming participation opportunities.

What is a Public Consultation?

A public consultation is a unique opportunity for Canadians to learn about the project, ask questions, and share their ideas. It provides a space for dialogue between communities and decision-makers, where local perspectives, concerns, and priorities can be considered before final decisions are made.

As part of the Alto project, this process helps inform the analysis of the proposed corridor, supports its seamless integration into communities, and strengthens mitigation measures, including those for the environment.

Why Participate in Public Consultations?

Your participation is essential to building a project that truly reflects the needs and expectations of the communities served. By taking part in the public consultation process, you will:

  • Discover the Alto project’s vision
  • Contribute to one of the largest transportation projects in Canadian history
  • Provide your feedback to inform ongoing analysis
  • Raise awareness of opportunities for your community

A social project such as Alto is built together with communities. Every voice counts in shaping a network that will bring cities closer together and create economic opportunities for all.

Alto is committed to engaging in open and inclusive dialogue, where listening is as important as informing. This is an important step in the regulatory process leading to the project’s fulfillment.
