Protecting yourself from fraud and impersonation

Published on July 22, 2026

It has come to our attention that some individuals have received letters or communications falsely claiming to be from Alto. We take these incidents seriously and encourage property owners and the public to remain vigilant.

As of today, Alto continues to analyze and refine the study corridor. While we have sent access authorization letters to certain property owners as part of our field studies program, we have not sent any letters regarding potential property impacts.

Any communication claiming otherwise should be treated with caution.

If you receive a communication claiming to be from Alto and are unsure whether it is legitimate:

  • Do not provide personal, financial, or banking information.
  • Do not rely on the contact information included in a suspicious letter, email, or message.
  • Be cautious of emails that do not come from an @altotrain.ca address. Official Alto email communications will only come from this domain.

If you receive an unexpected or suspicious communication claiming to be from Alto, please contact us directly before taking any action.

The official source for reliable, up-to-date information about the project is altotrain.ca.
