MONTRÉAL, Feb. 5 2026 /CNW/ - Alto will be holding an open house session in Mirabel on February 24, 2026, as part of its public consultation program pertaining to the high-speed rail network. This meeting organized in collaboration with Mayor Roxanne Therrien and her team aims to maintain the dialogue with the Mirabel community by providing residents with a transparent, directly accessible consultation process inspired by best practices.
This collaboration with the City of Mirabel demonstrates Alto’s commitment to open, transparent and constructive dialogue with communities along the corridor. By working with elected officials, local organizations and citizens, Alto ensures that their perspectives and priorities actively shape the project’s growth.
Feedback from Alto open houses and submitted through the online consultation platform will help map out the rail network and guide efforts to minimize impacts, foster inclusion and maximize local benefits.

Public consultation is a key pillar of the Alto project. We recognize Mirabel’s distinct history and its residents’ heartfelt drive to protect their community. We would like to start a dialogue based on listening to, respecting and centring the community’s specific experience. Together, we can build a rail system that all Canadians can be proud of.
Alto Public Consultation Program
Public consultations along the corridor will be held from January to March 2026, with several ways for Canadians to participate, including:
- Over 20 open houses and in-person information sessions across, providing opportunities to interact with Alto experts, gather information and offer proposals.
- Eight virtual information sessions given at various times to provide more opportunities ways to participate.
- An online portal with information and participation opportunities: https://www.altotrain.ca/plateforme-consultation
- So far, over 3,000 people have taken part in Alto open houses and more than 37,000 people have visited our consultation platform, which allows the public to comment on the proposed area through an interactive map.
- Specialized consultation activities—including technical briefings—are also planned to ensure meaningful engagement and dialogue with Indigenous communities.
- Feedback from public consultations will help shape the rail network’s route, which will be defined later in 2026. A second round of consultations will then be held to review and refine the proposed route.
